Sins Of The Fathers

“Is there a reason in your heart or head,
a ‘must need’ to blow away a nation.
Is it the seed of your breed,
or the bread you are fed.
were you born with this inclination?”
It defies imagination,
to destroy people you don’t even know.
It is evil beyond contemplation,
a violation inviting war and woe.

The world was at your feet,
now broken homes and fear
are all you know and so
the whole world weeps- for you.
as deliberate you stand
while death and sorrow flow
across that ancient land,
where peace can never grow.

Well worded to show the futile waste of war and it's lasting affects. A nice east flow too. Congrats on the gold my friend...alby

Kudos for your Gold, it was well deserved.

  • I really like how this is written. I'm partial to rhyme and this is well done. Where there was a spot towards teh end of the first stanza that the flow seemed a little off it wasnt really noticable and doesnt really hinder the poem. Great job and thanks for entering my contest.
