part of my first book....

The other begins to argue again, but is cut short by a voice behind me. I turn to the deep voice saying a name.
“I believe we have some company on the way.”
“Looks like we shall be off again than doesn’t it?” The fatter man asks. “Gather your things, we’ll be moving out in a minute.”
“No sir, I believe they are already here.” Says the deep voice.
“Hurry men. How close are they?”
“Here, the scent is heavy in front of me, I believe they may be watching from the far side.” He motions his hand past the two men who were just fighting.
“Hurry men! Leave everything unneeded.”  He begins to transform into a wolf, hair growing quickly from his arms, teeth growing out longer than mine. He howls, causing the others to begin to transform as well.
Blu and I strike.
My hands fly out to the deep voiced man’s neck. He is in the middle of his transformation and caught off guard. He takes a step back, retracting his snout and hair as fast as he can. I can hear Blu fighting with another beast to my side.
The man under my grip snaps his mouth at me as it shrinks back to its normal size. His hands fly up to my shoulders and tries to pull me down. My feet slide down his chest an inch or so and my grip loosens a bit, but nothing else happens. He yells and coughs at the same time, flinging spit onto my face.
I speed my left hand to my face to free my eyes from mess. In the half a second it took me to release and grab his neck again, another set of arms are upon me. My prey’s hands around my shoulders and the other set around my ankles.
I’m being pulled down. My feet slide farther from their resting spot, causing my grip to loosen more. I dig my nails into the man’s neck, causing him to scream in pain. I feel my teeth fledge and my lips part. I raise my mouth quickly to his neck while my hands are still hanging on it, but pain comes to me before him.
An exploding pain erupts in my back. It’s between my shoulder blade and my spine. I scream and fall from the neck I had almost ripped open. Landing on my back, I roll onto my stomach and crawl into a ball. It hurts to bend my back, but I manage it.
Hands pull my arms out from under me as soon as I’m comfortable. My back is pulled straight up, my arms out to my sides, and I am left resting on my knees. Many sets of eyes stare back at me, but I only care to find one.
They are sad, the gray blue color of the sky before a storm. He’s sorry, he blames himself. I shake my head, he lowers his. It’s our fault, not just his.
“Well look what we have here men. Seems to me that they are young ones, what do you think?” I don’t look to see who it is, I recognize the voice as the fat man.
“Almost had you too, Zane, good thing we got here in time.” Says an unknown voice to the man I had had a hold on.
“Watch what you say Mordecai.”
“Enough, enough. What do you think we shall do with these two?” Asks the fat man again.
“I say we rip their heads from their bodies!” Someone shouts from behind me.
“Nice idea, then we can spread the blood over the forest floor, as a warning.” The fat man laughs at his idea. “Who want’s to have the honors?”
Zane walks forward. “I will have this one.” He slides his finger down my cheek. I pull back, repulsed. A laugh echoes from his throat.
He grabs a knife from his pocket and uncovers the blade slowly. He drops the sheath in the dirt and slices a cut in my arm. I suck in my breath, but know it will heal in a minute. The man smiles at my pain, though it is not all that bad. He brings the blade up to my throat and lets it touch the skin.
I’m dead. I can’t scream for help, I’m frozen with fear. At least I will be able to see Mother and Father and Simon again. And Tarn, I can give him a hug for Ashakiran. Ashakiran… what is she going to do when she finds that Blu and I are dead?
“Enjoy Hell young one.” He whispers in my ear, though I’m sure the others could hear.
“No! Wait!” Zane turns to face the voice. “You can trade her for Faruq, they’ll gladly take her.”
“And why would they do that boy?” the fat man asks.
“She’s…important to them.” Blu states, trying hard to save me, and I know that he might. My breath comes back to me and my heart slows.
“A new blood important to an army of five hundred? Stop trying to fool me, I am no idiot. Continue on Zane.”
“No! I am not lying. Guto would give himself up to ensure her safety. You can send a man to ask if you think I am being untruthful.”
The fat man glances to the other lycans staring at him and Blu. He thinks for a moment before replying.
“Jayden, find someone reliable to ask. Fast.”
“Yes sir.” A man in the back replies before vanishing off into the unpopulated parts of the forest.
“Can I at least have the boy?” Zane asks, changing his direction to face Blu.
“He said nothing of being important himself, enjoy yourself.”
Zane grins and ambles his way to my friend, knife shining in the moonlight coming through the trees. As he approaches, I can hear the sound of leaves being disrupted. I cry.
“Please, don’t do this.” Tears are beginning to run down my face, blending with the sweat from the heat and fear. “Please don’t.”
Zane turns to me for a second, then back to the people holding Blu. “Pull him close to her, aye?”
The beasts gripping Blu drag him in front of me. Our eyes meet, mine watering, his just sad. Before I know it, Zane is standing in between us, but off to the side so I can still see Blu’s face.
“I’m sorry Hannah.” Blu whispers.
“This is no pity party.” Zane cuts him off before Blu can continue. I only brought you closer so your girlfriend here can watch closely as I cut your throat out.” He snickers along with some others.
“Say goodbye Hannah.” Zane orders as he brings the tip of the knife to Blu’s neck. He pulls Blu’s light yellow hair out of his face to the back of his head with one hand, the knife in the other. “Say goodbye.” He orders again.
I say nothing. The moving of leaves has stopped, and I can feel a prickle against my skin.
“So you do not wish to have a proper parting with the one you love?”
“You didn’t let me have one with the others I loved. Besides, he’s not going anywhere.” I reply.
The prickling on my hand leaves replaced by the sight of a body jumping towards Blu’s attacker. He’s knocked back, surprised, and drops the knife. It’s snatched from the air by a quick hand and plunged into Zane’s heart.
Still moving too fast for me to make out who it is, Blu and I are ripped from our spots. My hand is held tight in our savior’s hand, my feet moving quickly through the trees. I don’t glance back because I can hear pounding just behind us.
We pick up speed and my hand is released. I follow the person in front of me and begin to see some of the characteristics. Dark red curly hair is held up high on the back of her head. She has torn clothes on, not that of which would be found in the castle.
I only know one vampire that could have killed a lycan that fast.
I only know one vampire that does not live in the castle.
I only know one vampire by the name of Cwenhild, so I call it.
She turns her head to look at me. “What is it?”
“You’re back! Blu, Cwenhild is back!”
“I never left.” She laughs. “I’ll explain later.”

I think you should extend the meeting of the lycans and the two Vampires.
