The first time I saw your little face
I was filled with such emotion
I couldn't help but smile
At your perfect little face!
I heard that cry
And it made me smile
To know that you
Were doing just fine!
I worried so much
Before you were born
That you'd have problems,
But you didn't...
Everytime I look at you now
I think of that day...
All the pain I felt
And the joy I felt...
Seeing your daddy hold you
It made me feel so good
Because I know that
He loves you so much!
The moment they took you from me,
He followed you around...
Everywhere they took you,
He was right behind them.
He is so proud of you
He showed you off
Before you were even born...
That's a PROUD daddy!
I just hope and pray
That we can support you
With what little money
We will try to make.
This is for you, my son...
I hope you grow to be
A strong and caring young man...
And find a good woman to love.
I love you so very much,
My little one...
You are my world
My little angel!

Wonderful sentiments expressed so well in these lines; easy to read and understand how one can feel this way about their child. Good flow and feelings shared in this poem. Wishing you all the best with this new little one.

"The first time I saw your little face
I was filled with such emotion"
- I can absolutely relate to the feeling
Regarding the 8th stanza, my son is 17 now. We haven't had a lot of money for his whole life, and he has turned out terrific
Setting a good example for a child teaches values and doesn't cost $$
Some ideas that have helped in raising him are: being fair, listening, encouraging him with enthusiasm, encouraging him to take an interest in aspects of the world around him; and going to the library.
Hope you don't mind my rambling, but we are at a stage of reflection; as he is planning to go to college.
(and I like the lines about the proud Daddy
)
Best of luck to you
