The Hue of Heaven Sent

I see the hue of Heaven sent

                        right before my eyes

Such perfection in it's gleam

                        of effervescence lies

It flows on wings of angles,

                        sheltering my soul

And though I've only visited,

it's hue has made me whole

I meandered towards it's brilliance

                        knowing only beauties grace

And wondered if I'm good enough

to feel it on my face

Then just as I stepped towards it

                        this miracle I saw

My soul began to fall again

as I reached for it in awe

And so the hue of Heaven sent

seems naught more than a dream

Though I hope that in the future

once more on my face will gleam

    Beautifully Inscribed!

A poem that makes me ponder upon the white lights beaming bright as one might be walking into the pearly gates. I like how you took a prompt, and made it your own. Thanks for sharing, Peace. Timothy

I would have to guess that you saw either white or gold as these are the colors which are usually associated with divinity. I am not religious in the strict sense, so perhaps that is why the images do not really appeal to me emotionally. I feel that they do not transcend cultural values, do not translate the feeling of divinity into words, but that might just be because of cultural differences. What I like is that you described how ellusive this light can be. I think we all hope for some light to stay with us.

This was written from a prompt and when I saw the prompt this is the image that came to mind imediately. I do not really find divinity in any color either but you often hear of these images from people who have had "near death" experiances and that is what inspired this piece.

    White? Golden?

I like the form, thought and the rhyme. I think that means I like the poem. It is an easygoing 'spiritual' piece that is well written and deserves the recognition that it gets. (P.S. It is my favorite of yours, keep that under your hat)
