Haunting Eyes

Haunting eyes now still see
  The love we once shared

Lost dreams now forbidden
Hearts that no longer care

You turned and you fled
When love danced in my eyes

Walking out of the door
With lost tears that I cried

So now I am haunted
By that which is lost

Green eyes stained with sorrow
Heart covered in frost

    Hood-Wink!

The end is great, touches our hearts and made me feel so close to the situation you described...a good description to the downside of love.  The last two unique lines stand out by giving this poem impact...

    All the best...

A very heartfelt poem I and many others can relate to. Especially the line, green eyes stained with sorow. Your poems are so filled with emotions. They always touch my heart in some way. You take care my friend. Bless you always.

    Hugs and Smiles,
    Sandy

very clever, and a very relatable poem to anyone who has ever gone through heartbreak... I especially like the last two lines, the analogy is great. Good job!
