Spirit Dreaming

Squirrel in the tree
What do you see?
Deep down inside
Are you the same as me?

Spirit experiencing the world
The deer, the fox, the rabbit
They’re just like me
Acting out of habit

Spirit experiencing the world
Unaware of what we truly be
Humans caught in thinking mind
Awareness sets us free

  • I was just thinking along the lines of this yesterday. I study the penguins at our local zoo for senior project and I realized how much human beings give ourselves credit for. The way we think, is just the same as the way animals do. We give ourselves to much credit just because we have opposable thumbs. I liked the rhyme of this piece too. It flowed well, and the message, is just so true. Great job on this and good luck in the contest.

I totally agree with this. Excellent. I feel you are exploring right now. Isn't it FUN. There is so much to get in to and experience. Great poem. Really GREAT.

    Bravo

We can just see the awareness in the little things, even the critters you speak of, when I go to work at night and a rabbit is out there looking back at me, I literally seem to connect with it's thoughts, fun to watch the birds, squirrels and even turkeys that stroll past, the deer standing far from the road, just amazing and the awareness that they are taken care of like we know we can be too. Blessings.

I like this, it's cute. It brings a bit of nature into lives, even if only for a moment.
    Sweet.
