Three sides to every story

How odd of God to choose the Jews,
For some to win and some to lose,
His son was given:
Not for mirth
But to establish later Israel's birth.

Later on in case they whine
Was given back brave Palestine
A Muslim nation to its core
But even Arabs close the door.

Egypt’s borders slammed tight shut
No place for innocence so 'Al is gut'
Muslim brothers through and through!
Yet still Hamas no place for you!

All cry out loud though none are willing
To stop the war and end the killing
All they see is terrorist slaughter
There are no wives, no son, no daughter!

The west afraid, not of the Jews
Only of the nightly news,
Do I look bad as I condone,
The innocence slaughter as they de-throne?

Alas there is no end in sight
A Muslim nation with no strength to fight
But heed this time as truth unfurled
What true help given by the Arab world?

Later on as they protest and whine
In the background happy; no Palestine
Gratefull of their right to choose
for they know what they get if they have the Jews!

Its a really sad story. You are very right that there are multiple sides to this story. There isn't one right or wrong answer because there is validity on each side. I wonder if a one state solution could solve many of the problems. I think it would change the conversation dramatically and allow them to handle many of the issues- a one state solution that recognizes both people's rather than the Palestinians as second class citizens. That's wrong but so is the suicide bombing and Hamas.
    Thanks for entering!

The nice Israelis have just deprived 20% of their citizens (the on-Jewish ones) from voting in their coming elections by banning the anti-war arabic parties. So Israeli arabs have the choice of voting for Zionists or staying at home. Nice one.

I disagree with banning those parties- although I don't know enough about it because if its Hamas for instance then I can understand differently. Its a sad story- I'm personally in favor of a one state solution. What do you think about that?

I'd be happy with a one-state solution. It would be called Palestine and the Israelis could piss off somewhere else where they weren't wanted either.

I was thinking of a one state solution called neither Palestine or Israel- but one where both peoples are represented in the government equally- and both have all equal rights. I think it would take care of a lot of the issues like suicide bombings because it would be their own people then putting pressure on them to not give the extremists power. That wouldn't work or help. I want a one state solution- so both sides compromise and get what they want at least somewhat- minus extermination of each other. I think both sides have a valid claim to land- both religions are equally valid.
You should work towards a solution rather than just putting up hatred and intolerance. Have an open mind- because you aren't doing the Palestinians any good by having the attitude you do- you need to understand both sides.

The problem with both ideas of a one state solution is that neither side is wanted by the rest of the Arab/Muslim nations.
By this I mean Israel’s current leadership is frowned upon because of their aggressive stance whilst Hamas are seen as a bunch of ignorant peasants whose only claim to political allegiance of the population was gained by the rhetoric of hate/fear and the physical extermination of opposition members
Hence the lack of moral and physical support for much of the time Israel was bombing Hamas by Egypt, they see Hamas as a threat to stability, before you mention the fact of arms smuggling from Egypt to Gaza think how many lives could have been saved if they had opened their borders to allow refugees fleeing the Jewish bombs!
The fact they were caught like rats in a trap was immaterial to the Arab world as none were prepared to fight for a group such as Hamas who are counter productive within the grand scheme for peace within the Middle East.
It is my personal belief that all sides wish for peaceful co-existence but until some "irritants" are removed, be it publically or under covert operations then useless deaths of innocent people will continue long into this century.
We (the western public) can only look on in horror and spout indignation for those souls lost but remember that We gave power to those in office (except Gordon brown) so must trust to their better judgement as to what response we as a nation shall give.
