i know what it is to miss someone
with everything you have. (all of you)
i've felt the pang of guilt
you didn't tell him the truth. (you hate goodbyes)
the tensity in your family,
the "have you heard from him"s
there's never a simple answer.
"how are you?"
there's never a simple answer.
"im okay" will suffice.
i know how it feels to respect their bravity
they could die. (thats too scary)
i hear my mom cry at night,
her son's gone. (maybe he won't come back)
war is painful, and it hurts,
it does not discriminate. everyone gets hurt.
i know what it is to miss someone
with everything you have. (all of you)
all of them.

Not a bad poem in itself. Its slightly rough as far as the flow goes. The flow really is whats holding the poem back but other than that you didnt do a bad job.
