Birthday Wishes,
for a birthday girl.
Blows out her candles,
all eyes on her.
She makes a wish,
but no one truly cares.
She wants to be happy,
she's sick of the tears.
She wishes things we're different,
that she was really loved.
Maybe things will change,
if she wishes hard enough.
But far, down in her heart,
she knows they won't come true.
Stuff won't work out for her,
they never do.
She'll wear a smile,
as she opens the gifts.
So fake, but pretty,
wishing they won't notice.
She says thank-you,
with an added hug.
While she wishes they'll leave,
she's had enough!
When the cake is gone,
and everyone leaves,
She'll clean up the ribbons,
holding back screams.
The she breaks down,
she'll begin to cry.
Because of the pain,
growing from inside.
Unable to clean up,
she lays down in bed.
Wishes the thoughts will stop,
from running through her head.
She wishes for peace,
as she forgets about her family.
She wishes for life,
as she forgets all her memories.
Finally,
she wishes..
That her Birthday Wishes,
will come true...
