Upon the wings of tomorrow,
fly, and step into what will be.
This is the time for newness
and what you do is yet to tell.
Now an opportunity has arisen
when all hold their breath,
waiting to see you fly or fall.
The reins are ready for your grasp
and the masses await your lead.
In the face of so much change,
cautious steps can only be desired;
much has eroded and it is time
to dam the flow of ennui
and rebuild the structure that made us great.
Hail to the chief,
but consider that great leaders
are not served,
but rather serve those who believe in them.
As eagles soar, our hopes rise
to meet the thermals of the future.
Prayers and effort are what made us,
they are what will make us once again.
Be what you can; prove our faith.
Upon you are the eyes of tomorrow,
seen through the visions of today.

i guess it makes sense if it was for the inauguration :/ im canadian, so the mension of eagles when straight over my head, must've caught a thermal
i didnt really like it... i might just not be used to this sort, but normally i come across something structured like this that either rhymes, or is bleeding with emotion, and i didnt really catch any of that here. just a 'hope you're better than the last' sorta vibe. -

Well, I was looking for views, and you fit the bill. I am sorry that it did not trip your trigger, but hey, something new is always worth trying.
Thank you for reading and taking the time to comment.
