with eyes of sadness
she stares into
the shattered remains of a mirror
startled by the unfamiliarity
of the gaunt face that greets her.
crystal clear memories of
the smile she used to own;
haunt her. (fear consumes her.)
a glass of water
and a little white pill
will make it all go away
(he tells her.)
blinking tears back
from fake eyelashes
trying to hide her troubled mind
from you.
against the hard metal
of a radiator she sits
(cross legged like back in primary school)
desperate to feel it's heat
reach her bones.
she's crying now
(breath-catching sobs
as her body shakes
in emotional agony)
she knows
she wears her [in]sanity
on her sleeve.

This is good. I love that last bit:
"she knows
she wears her [in]sanity
on her sleeve."
Good luck and thankyou for entering
