I’m searching,
I’m longing,
My breath deepens,
Quickens.
I dash through the fields
As the grass parts
And reveals a path
As the stars above
Illuminate my way…
You’ve been here,
At this creek…
You’ve been here,
Lying among these flowers…
Your scent still lingers
Through the air…
But, where are you?
Why are you hiding?
You’ve stolen something precious,
You’ve stolen my heart…
I close eyes,
Silent my mind,
And listen with my ears
For the hushed
Beating of your heart…
And I listen with my heart,
And try to distinguish
Your subtle laughter
From the mirth
Of the faeries fluttering all around me,
With their delicate wings
Glistening in the silver light
Of the moon.
The thumping of your heart
Echoes throughout the eternal forests.
I spin all around,
*The shadows begin to form*
Calling out to you,
Begging you,
Crying.
You’ve disappeared…
You’re disappearing.
I’m getting so close to you now,
But the beat of your heart
Keeps getting softer…
I beg with all my heart,
I plead with all my soul,
With every fibre of my being,
I shout out to the heavens…
“I’m sorry!”
I fall to the ground,
I whisper to the spirits in the night…
“I’m sorry I can never…
That I can never be there for you,
To whisper with my voice
That I’m here,
To hold you in my arms,
And protect you from the shadows,
To entwine your heart within
The soft touch of my fingers,
To let you know you’re finally safe…”
I’m sorry…
I’m never there for you…

it's sad cuz i'm sad tonite...no reason why....but part of me thinks it has to do something with what this poem talks about....i hope not...

This poem is sad but a delight, Hon.. We have all been in this place now and again, where we couldn't be there for someone we care about.. It is part of life, we can only ask for forgiveness and move on.. Sadness is also a part of life, experiencing it makes us appreciate the times we are happy and contented.. It is Yin and Yang.. Writing like this shows your inner soul and you are human..
