they tell me i'm yellow.
they tell me i'm yellow,
and they're white, and he's black
and she's red...
the rain falls in ropes.
when the earth lets the white sky
into the ground,
colors don't seem to matter so much...
we splash through the puddles.
the water cleanses, and a broken shard
is visible. reflections are distorted and
true natures show in the rain.
the rain washes us ...
... wash our skins of these colors
let us be skeletons if necessary
but let us be equal...
color me with raindrops.

Loved the concept to all of us being washed and enjoying the same thing with the rain no matter what race we are. Well written. Blessings.

Oh wow. I can't say any more than that. This is just so Wow. I loved the imagery, and this poem is a true tribute to rain. The opening and the closing were magnificient. It makes me want to stand in the rain. Excellent work. Thanks for entering my contest.

Oh my goodness. I love love love this. This is a beautiful write about rain...but with a wonderful message embedded within. I would have never thought to tie in rain with racism. Excellent work here I am very impressed. I wish you the best of luck in the contest
