Numbing

I laughed with my friends today,

but inside I felt nothing.

My brother said his first words yesterday,

but I couldn't bring myself to hear them.

Because ever since you took

your love away from me

I've been like a walking zombie.

I've not cried

and I've not smiled.

I've just been numb.

I do know this feeling, indeed I do. But this is when we have to slap ourselve back to reality. You see what it has done...now see what it is doing to the others you love around you. It hurts them too and they never hurt you I do understand though only too well. This piece is quite effective. Great job.

young love you will find, if keen , is a learning affair. The real numbness comes with the reality the love that is true is so very hard to hold on too.
