Vine Of Entrapment

Missing image
Darkness softly seduces me
in strains of deathly psalm,
lips mesmerised in mute response
and hypnotising calm.

To grapple with the onslaught
brings futility and mayhem,
with vicious roots of malice
future's light all but condemned.

These shadows slowly take control
like a ritualistic dance,
cajoling and caressing me
in blackened, weaving trance.

This vine it creeps in stealthy step
with mind captive in its web,
constricting with a fatal grasp
as sanity finally ebbs.
