My Quiet Envy

Golden glistening sunlight
Dripping from her hair
Always in your sight
Always in your stare
Her lips a rose
Her teeth gleam
Beautiful is her nose
Her eyes a glorious beam
To you she is the epitamy
Of all you desire
To you she is a tragedy
For her you feel fire
But what is to be said
Of the girl next to you
That girl to you is dead
Stuck to you like glue
A raincloud next to her sunlight
An ugly dreaded thing
Grounded while she's in flight
For her you feel nothing
Why is it that beauty
Must come before the good?
Why don't you love me
As much as you should?
Run to her as you feel you must
While I stand here in the rain
You give in to your lust
And leave me with all the pain.

    My Quiet Envy

This is really a nice poem - so honest, open and without a trace of anger of revenge. But nevertheless sad and painful. I hope you haven't felt this feeling too many times. Nicely done! Thanks.
