The Real Humpty Dumpty

So Humpty Dumpty sat on the wall?
Did he really have a great fall?
Was it really an accident after all?
I cannot say, I do not recall.
Could it have been an act of suicide?
Was that the reason Humpty died?
Maybe he walked off in one long stride.
But could they not put him together again?
No matter how hard they really tried?
