Although I am not with you
I'm sending this with love
The candy and the chocolate
Are brought from angels up above

I know you like the sweet stuff
And the angels all know too
That’s why I put it in the bag
For them to bring to you

You still mean the world to me
Although were far apart
Please remember, don’t forget
Your alway's in my heart..

The 1st Valentine's Day after my husbands death, I took a little bag with some of his favorite things to our favorite picnic spot. I left the little bag there with a note telling him that my love would always be with him (it still is, 19 years later)...DeeDee

    This is stunning, and a well deserved gold winner. I believe that the challenges that God throws our way are given to make us stronger and better people. The pain you have been through has clearly helped you become a person who can truly understand the pain of loss, and help others who may be suffering see the silver lining.

    excellent write!

    This shows a wonderful depth of emotion to it. I can feel the love, loss, and loneliness in this write. You also showed creativity in that you talked of angels bring your loved on the candy and hearts he likes.

    Now this brought tears to my eyes, In this day and age where people love and leave just as quickly it is so beautiful and touching to read where ones love is still there, still strong and never dies! 's

      Thank you for your comment. I am happy that you liked it. I agree, today so many people fall in and out of love so quickly. However, I was lucky enough to be able to say that the love I shared with my husband has lasted all these years. 19 years have passed since his death and I still love him just as much today as the 1st day I married him. Ours really was a forever love....DeeDee
