Scratch That

There is no silhouette in the day light
no soft shadow to investigate
no hope to squander

Would you color me gray again?
Paint my world your metaphor
catch my breath in yours

I want to push you away
but you’ve gone off again
got your head on straight again

No more tin foil hats
sobriety cured you of that
and I wonder if you’re still mine.

A contest entry

Something new and I think incomplete.

I plan to revise this poem: please leave constructive criticism!

Kinda scary a little that you can pick mine out of a line up still.

The line about the tine foil hats made me smile. I used that as a prompt for a contest one time. Anyway, I really do like this. Thank you for entering.
