Dear Heavenly Father,
You know all and are with us every step we take,
every breath we breathe.
I ask you now to fill Jan's lungs
with the sacred flame of your healing power.
Burn this cancer and heal the tissues in her lungs,
and anywhere else this cancer may have spread.
Give her complete healing in body, mind and spirit.
Father, you are Mercy.
We ask for your healing mercy on Jan and her family.
Give them courage and strength,
surround them in a cocoon of your abiding love.
Bring them the comfort of friends, their prayers and actions.
Let them want for nothing.
Lead Jan and her family to your pasture of kindness,
guide them to waters of comfort and promise.
As the Good Shepherd rescued the lost sheep
and brought her back to safety,
may your Son Jesus rescue Jan
from the precipice of death
and carry her whole and healthy
back to the fold of Allpoetry, where she is much loved.
I pray this prayer humbly in the name of Jesus,
who is our Victory.
