A deluge of raindrops steadily fall.
too many sad memories too recall.
Pings upon rooftop going drip drip,
layers of hurt, peel away and strip.
Wind in the hollow becomes dank,
dreams wash away from river bank.
Flood of emotions return in spring,
thunder rumbles, birds do not sing.
Hope it is different then other years,
will showers wash away my tears?
When rainbow appears, will it stay,
or like last year, will it fade away?
Flash flood of sad memories ignite,
when spring showers come in sight.
Wash over me sad thoughts of love,
as sorrow rains down from above.

Superb
Ah, 'tis a very fine write, as usual. Imagery; rhythm, and rhyme are just fine. Thanks for sharing this one with us. And it does bring back some poignant memories.

Rain, rain go away come again another day..
Remember those lines from a child's poem? Your poem is warm and so true,The rain says so much and brings back memories also, some happy and some sad. When it rains do not be sad. When it rains think of spring, flowers, and the earth's rebirth. x12

Oh, the anxiety of those floods of bad memories, especially when the dam breaks and they come so hard and fast. Do I ever hear you on this one. I feel for you Sandy, and I would always be glad to try and cheer you up and get you out of that state of mind if you want!
