Observe the eagle that roams
freely upon the earth
for it lives for today
with no thoughts of tomorrow
mounting the loftiest mountain
or dipping beneath the lowest valley
as it savors the many delights
of an awesome existence
brief as it maybe
until it is no more
We're all partakers of life's goodness,
remembering that it is a privilege
like the many wonderful people
that pass our way
be it nurturing parents or passionate lovers,
incredible children that fulfill our lives
friends of indelible memory who keeps
us enchanted in the mundane of loneliness
we're travellers of fortune
on a quest for that ever elusive wholeness
in search of answers that are only
ascertained inside each of us
always forging into obscurity
as blind men sifting through the dark
when the true road to happiness is
in the exchange of affection
on this marvelous journey of love
because we own nothing
tho we've been given everything
only as a loan on borrowed time
so we can truly know what it is to have lived
