His eyes hang by a thread
and body almost bald from all the loving.
But he's part of three generations
of growing up,
so he's been confidante
to many tears, stories
and hopes for each.
The wire that joins his arm to body
hangs and his arm dangles,
but he sits in pride of place
at the head of the bed
of current mistress.
Somehow he bound us all together
in childhood memories
and around him
we each smile secretly
as he sits there knowingly
in his tatty wisdom.

This is such a great take on the prompt
I love my old teddies and I can just imagine the stories that they would have to tell! I really enjoyed this read
thank you for entering!

there was enough as it went along to show this teddy you were referring to. This is so innocent of the feel you were once, and politely as it seems, still are, for all the instances revolved around, have this little teddy at the heart of the matter for reminisce. How tatty, does the acceptable soon become. Lovely memories that was.
