Oh sweet lolly pops
And spinning tops
Jump rope and tag,
Toys in school bags
Shining memories to store.
Jokes and games,
Fun nicknames,
Talks in mumbles
Sports that fumble,
What a way to be happy.
Skipping and holding hands
Sketches in the sand,
Shapes of clouds in the sky,
Or colour of cars passing by,
Life can be so grand.
Picking of field flowers,
Phone calls lasting hours,
Driving cars each
And having fun at the beach.
What a glorious ride.
Skating and dating
Impatiently waiting
For school to be complete
To travel to places upbeat.
Sweet freedom.
To be with another
And visiting others,
To have kids,
Who grow as you did
That is what life is about.
To be finally retiring
After a life so inspiring,
To settle back and dream
Of life's mysteries
Enjoying the warmth of the sun.

I like this is a lot. The fact that life is moving forward is great. Most poems I've read are about a single moment in time.
This is great.
