What We Have and Wish to Hold

These are gifts from Him
But they are all only on loan.
Our time is not ours unless
It is time that was spent.
The moment at the time
Is all we can say is ours.

Only what He gives
Can we say is ours to view.
How many can say they saw it all too.
The gift of a sun rise or a sun set,
What a precious view our eyes can hold.
In our hearts it can rest there too.

The gift of a friend as long as they stay,
One can't complain if only for a day.
The memories then must carry one through.
The power to be a friend is yours to give.
You can give as long as you live.
Just don't complain if it is not sent back to you.

The gift of a child, can stay in your heart.
The gift of love from a friend or a mate.
That is another story of fate.
Their time is between the and God.
The gift is them only lent to you.
Only in your heart, will they linger there.

This has beautiful sentiments and rhyme. The lilt is easy to feel as you read and out loud it is just as lovely. A spell error in the first line 'form' is 'from' C
