You may not have been born, on this exact day.
But none the less, you were born in a special way.
I wonder if you were born here, and now,
would your life be different somehow?
But I already know the truth.
You would be the same, and so would we, it's no use.
You wouldn't even judge those that don't believe in you.
Instead you would try to show them what's true.
I think you'd sit beside them anyway.
Even on Christmas Day.
Doing as you said, judging no one.
We should all follow, God's son.
Jesus you accepted everyone.
No matter what belief, what color, what age,
how they dressed, rich, or poor, just the same.
Happy Birthday Jesus Christ, ah but what to give?
I've got it, I'll try my best to do as you did, for as long as I live.
Author notes
It's a little late, but that really doesn't matter. The sentiment should be the same, no matter what time of year it is.
Please tell me what you think

Thank you - a very sweet and sincere poem. It would be interesting for you to read some other views: try The Grand Inquisitor in The Brothers Karamazov. Nice job!

Thanks,
I'm glad you liked it. I will try to get to that poem, the title alone sounds interesting. Connie

As an atheist myself
I still think it's a great write =]
At the last line, though, I think you brought it on too quickly... I think you should have spent more time going through pros and cons of material gifts
Nevertheless...a good write =]

Thanks,
I'm glad you read it. I guess I didn't even think of material gifts because Christ wouldn't want them. So I was trying to give him a gift that would mean a lot to him. Thanks again for reading, Connie.

well as for not pushing it, you did fine. as for making it subtle you did horrible... :/
its a good poem, i liked it. i was raised christian know what you're talking about. you said your beliefs are your own which makes me think that you arent a straight christian, more that you think maybe that he didnt really rise from the grave, that the universe wasnt created in 7 days, etc etc. it sounds like you've questioned it thuroughly and weren't satisfied with the answers you got? rather you just agree with
'jesus'' ideas and morals. thats cool.
heres my constructional input- second line, in should just be cut out. it makes that line one syllable too long for me.

Thanks for all your input.
Actually I question more churches, than Christ. I believe in God, and Jesus, as being God's son. Actually I even believe in the seven day creation. It's just that who said the seven days were the same as our days? What man says, and what Jesus said, are two different things. I see being a Christian as following Christ, simple but that is what it is. It's hard to be satisfied with non answers. I thought that gift was the most meaningful thing I could give him. Thanks for reading, Connie.
