In a fragmented moment of frustration
I stop and stumble upon the saving
rationalization that in reality
I am one among the accumulated masses
on this enormous planet earth
When I thoroughly think that thought through
I am comforted
I can casually dismiss my disdain
for my own mistakes by pretending to be a star
If I was looking directly down from the solar system
I could recite all that needed rectifying
and millions of maligned mistakes by others
would be virtually visible from my lofty layover
It's okay to occasionally fail or foul-up
we live in a land of people, not puppets
we are not stars, but starters
and every mistake is the start of a new lesson
one among the masses
earth never felt so great...
than during a major mistake
I stop and stumble upon the saving
rationalization that in reality
I am one among the accumulated masses
on this enormous planet earth
When I thoroughly think that thought through
I am comforted
I can casually dismiss my disdain
for my own mistakes by pretending to be a star
If I was looking directly down from the solar system
I could recite all that needed rectifying
and millions of maligned mistakes by others
would be virtually visible from my lofty layover
It's okay to occasionally fail or foul-up
we live in a land of people, not puppets
we are not stars, but starters
and every mistake is the start of a new lesson
one among the masses
earth never felt so great...
than during a major mistake
Author notes
Sometimes the best way to get past making a mistake is to stop and think that while you might have just made a mistake, there are a million other people on earth that probably just errored as well on precicely the same day... somehow that just makes you feel less inadequate knowing you are not such a failure after all when you are not alone.

What a wonderful out look to have I shall borrow it if you do not mind. I like this blue on black it soothing as well as what you write in these troubled times.
