Dad, you have left us for your Heavenly home
We know you will no longer roam
Upon this earth as in days gone by
We'll miss you so, but we'll try not to cry
For we know you are completely out of pain
If we could, we would see your smile again
For it would come so easily
As now you are completely pain free
We will remember all the good times Dad
Enjoy them over and over and feel glad
Remembering the cook outs with you at the grill
Flipping the burgers and dogs and buns to fill
So Dad you are still with us each and every day
You'll continue to walk with us along life's way
For you are in our hearts where you'll always stay
Knowing that you are only a heartbeat away

You are most welcome Melissa. It is a wonderful feeling when we can just lean back and see our dad doing what he enjoyed doing with his family. I am so glad that you enjoy my poem.

Yes!! This is beautifully penned! They will love it, especially Melissa and her siblings. You've done a great job penning this one, as it's full of heart.
The flow wasn't flawed...and I couldn't see a problem with your piece.
I want to thank you from my heart,
for entering.
