Standing on the edge,
breeze in your face.
One step is taken...
Here you are standing with temptation.
Something feels good,
but you are scared.
Either way you give in...
As you plummet down,
you know the end is coming.
But you don't try to slow the fall...
Your mistake is ruining all you loved.
Wanting to stop,
but not trying...
You hit the bottom...
Taken over by addiction,
your life is over.

This is a great description of someone hitting bottom. But I disagree that life has to be over. Addicts and alcoholics often need to hit bottom in order to start their recovery.
Nice job!

Thank you for entering!
A little too much of this ....
but I did the like point you were making here, I have been there! Im sure we poets all have. Its what makes us poets.
Thank you for entering!
Take care,
Sophie.

I liked the fact that the piece only hinted at what the point was until the end. Addiction is a dangerous thing. Still, could have used a little more imagery.
