Hand in Glove

I draw near to those who love,
  those who walk My path.
If I'm the hand and you're the glove,
  then you've escaped the wrath.

If I'm the hand I have come,
and you have seen My face.
I'm in the Father as His Son;
you're in Us by Our grace.

The Father's sent Whom I have prayed,
We have shown Ourselves to you.
This three-fold cord is your array,
to help you to be true.

We work in you and pray for you
  with utmost infinite desire.
We work for good to bring you through
  by holy cleansing fire.

One not spared to give all Three,
  We give with fullest joy.
This, the Power to set you free,
  to be heaven's envoy.

We will keep what you commit,
  even your very own soul.
This is the promise in holy writ
and how We make you whole.

The weight you feel of this world
  will fully fall aside.
It will give way to glory unfurled,
  from you, deep inside.

Then you will know what We have said
  the Hand within the glove.
This I bought, when I bled:
  you've always had Our love.

Author notes

Based on:

"If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

“A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also. At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”
Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, “Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?”
Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me."--John 14:15-24

"Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written:

'For Your sake we are killed all day long;
We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.'

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."--Romans 8:26-39

      Got your IM.

      "Good afternoon M0of,
How has God bless thee today?
Do you mind if I spread the Hand in Glove poem and verses that follow in an email?
i'll give you full credit, of course, and give the link as well.
It seems like something a lot of people should read, so I thought I'd ask if you would like to have this little message you have penned shown to others besides fellow poets.
      God Bless,
      ZeInkslinger"

Let's do this in a simple way. Instead of copying the poem into an email how about just sending the link that will lead those to this page?

I think that would be best, please. Does that seem reasonable?

      Thanks
      ~TM
