Water Trail

Listening to a falling rain
Of water in my shower
I let it wash away my pain
As I contemplate for an hour

Water trailing slowly upon me
Beaded droplets travel by
My vision blurred not to see
Water blends with the tears I cry

Rising emotions flare within
Burning fierce and bright
I douse them with rain on skin
Turning emotional day to night

Yet no water will heal the hurt
No sunlight will dry the pain
Only seasons on ageless dirt
Time will allow a life again.
