Native Reflections…

Some are too encapsulated to care
Too engrossed in some laissez-faire
To hear the blunted screams afar
Sullied as the are—

Numb bullies in fear
No clandestine marauders there…
I was beleaguered by it all
My native abilities stalled—

Then the double helix must have called
What a wondrous affair!
That eyes come in pairs
That a gecko sticks on strains thinner than hair

Suddenly thoughts flashed
And rifled through my skull
What was taught was cashed
It caused a bustled flow

An idea-avalanche rushed down the slope
I free-fell without any rope
I anchored myself (in hope)—
Three-inches from the brink

Then I began to re-think…
Crossing my legs—eons cross my lines
I sunk in my chair
As thought-bumps zipped down my mind

Author notes

I was in my "Thinking Chair" again (lol). I almost couldn't stand back up (haha...just kidding). Thanks for the visit and reading.

I loved this! I really like how you bring in nature, like the gecko who holds by those very thin fibers... and how thoughts just tumble down the gray slopes of your brain... you have such imagination and the talent to share it so descriptively. Well-done, Brother!

Thank you for this huge smile plastered on my face from your remarks here. And thank you for your time spent reading this. You know how eager I am to get your input so now I can go to bed settled tonight (hahaha). I think it always feels good when we receive positive comments. Yet, when they come from such discerning eyes as yours it feels even better.

I don't know about "discerning"! More like very near-sighted! Just wanted to tell you again how much I am enjoying Noye's Life. It actually reads well a second time, too, always a good sign. Keep writing, please.

This is wonderful. Thoughts dragged screaming to the surface of the conscious mind...deep thoughts! Bravo!

The first stanza is my absolute favourite. 'There is none so blind as they who will not see!'
