These were words I would say before I could speak.
Just a game we would play before hide and seek,
Now your further away, still I know somehow they’ll
Get through to ya.
Hallelujah
Me 2, Julia
Hallelujah
Take me to ya
First you sturdied my bones, ‘til I stood on my own,
Then you polished each stone, so they glimmered and shone.
Old and aged, slightly worn, still reborn and so glad
That I Knew ya.
Hallelujah
Can’t undo ya.
Hallelujah
Take me to ya
Though my vision now blurs and my meaning’s obscured
Of my purpose unsure, sad and seeming absurd.
My last winds still they stir. Let them blow. Feel them flow
Right up through ya.
Hallelujah
Love renews ya
Hallelujah
Take me to ya
Indeed I never did dare to daydream or believe,
Free my soul from its snare or the webs that I’d weaved,
Earthbound burden to bear. Can you lift me up there?
Julia, do ya?
Hallelujah
Hello, Julia
Hallelujah
Take me 2

A touching tribute and compelling plea to a childhood soulmate taken too soon. I like what you did with the chorus, especially. Good luck in the contest; good to see you writing songs again.

OK. You got me. Yes, it's a kind of song. Still working out some chords for the melody though. As soon as they come to me I'll have to figure out how to get them through to ya.

Finally worked out the chords to this one--
Verse: CF CF aG FF
Chorus: aF cG aF cG
The Chords fall on the 3rd and 9th (normally) syllable in each line of the Verse,
on the 3rd and as a transition for each in the Chorus.
Now how to get the melody through to ya.
