Choices

I’m crying out,
I want to hear your voice.
As I look into your eyes,
I see a single choice.

The clock on the wall,
Goes by so slow.
Every second without you,
It’s like a repeated blow.

You are everything to me,
Every breath, every word.
I want to keep you to me,
But you fly away like a bird.

Please don’t leave me,
I don’t want to be alone.
Every night I wait,
Sitting quietly by the phone.

As I realize your call
Will never come.
My eyes fill with tears,
My heart becomes numb.

I’m crying out louder,
I want you to hear MY voice.
As you look into MY eyes,
You’ll see MY single choice.

Please tell me what you think

Well done Jenn, "love is everywhere... but in the wrong place!" A bit depressing this Jenn, I'll have to order an extra box of tissues!...ian.

Hm- definitely a cliff hanger poem. Well written darlin- I like your rhyme scheme and how you say you want them to hear your voice, rather than you want to hear theirs. That is a twist that I don't see very often in poems. LOVE YOU
