There are those who have always believed
Socialism to be the only humane way
For society to provide reverse incentives
For those not happy
Playing the name calling game
Old maids recluses and other loser types
I have always felt great affection
For rejects doing strangely harmless things
Like writing poems of compassion and love
Not wanting to play the name calling game
I have been called crazy many times
It's when they don't call me anything at all
That I begin to get worried
All great people are called many dirty names
I wish I could be great too.
Be a big brother I want you all
On the block watch program
Keeping each other out of trouble
Keeping a clean conscience
Tough luck! There are no closets
Please tell me what you think

Why I edited
I don't think people appreciate having their characters in their original works alluded to by others, therefore, I edited my reference to Boo Radley. Sorry. -
We each need to follow our own lights, diverse though they may be.
To be called crazy... isn't nearly as bad as it may sound we all are at least a little bit crazy but the really crazy ones don't know they're crazy and maybe that's a good way to be.
Crazy and great... they kinda go together, don't they
A good poem, Wesley

It is indeed , when they call you nothing at all that one feels insignificant and small....
Smiles and hugs on a great write...

Great Write
This was a pleasure to read. I think we are all a little crazy at times in our lives. Life would be a bit boring if we were not. I love how you bring Boo Radley into the verse. Yes To Kill A Mockingbird was a terrific movie.
You seem to have a big heart which is a most admirable quality to have. My dad always said socialism was better. With the disparity between the haves and have nots widening lately I think he may have been right. Well you take care. Hugs and Smiles.
Blessings, Sandy
