Why is it that you never ever see
The truth although I state it blatantly?
Why is it you insist that there must be
More fault of mine in these catastrophes?
It can't be true, "The truth will set you free"
For I'm only met with animosity.
I never start these fights. The truth is she
Has done more than I tell. Please, hear my plea,
Just listen! For God's sake do that for me
Before I must serve out my penalty.
Please tell me what you think

I thought this was fantastic. Some people will never listen and I thought you expressed yourself brilliantly!

Me Likey
Brilliant tale of conflict frodo! I particularly like lines 1-2 of the second verse. It makes me think about a book I read before. It was "The Myth of Sisyphus and Other Essays " by Albert Camus. Him and his ilk were concerned with "authenticity", which goes well beyond what we call being real. His particular brand of authenticity he called revolt. What he called revolt was constantly questioning what is seen as given to discover its truth. Is the animosity from another when you "set yourself free", or is it buried within yourself? Or is it that you see it as animosity? Welcome to the realm of absurdity. Because the answer is both them and you, and yet neither at the same time. You are free to decide what the bond between you and your antagonist is, and also free to determine what quality it has. This is why Sisyphus smiled.
So it would follow that your plea while heartfelt, is also powerless unless someone else heeds it. This penalty could easily be compared to Sisyphus' penalty of having to move a boulder up the slope of a mountain, only to have it roll back down to the valley for him to begin anew...for eternity. Is your penalty for being bad, or is your penalty for another reason that affirms you and who you are...thus setting you free! Only you can decide. Also, it can also be said that often, a punishment is often levvied for the punisher's sake so that they may justify it (and themselves) so that themselves, you, and the world can be shown exactly how right they are. These people never listen. The truth resides in you, and their responses are also defined by you, as you see them. Are they being unfair? Or are they in fact being irrational? Once again, once you stand with the truth, you are set free to interpret and decide. Great write frodo, I love it when people make me think of my favorite authors. btw, look up Albert Camus...I think you might like his plays. "Alain says that prayer is when night comes over the mind. However the existentialists and the mystics also understand that the mind must be present to greet the night."-Albert Camus

Outstanding
Some people will never listen and never believe you are speaking the truth. I liked how you explored your thoughts and feelings - sometimes if people just take the trouble to listen to what your saying then problems can be worked out. An interesting poem.
