Rejection's Shadow

Rejection feeds lonely soul's rejection
Pain numbs sorrow burying deep the pain
Affection withheld dismissed my affection
Fain was my heart and soul yet hope was feign

Praise for gifts leave empty celibate praise
Lavish luxury donned with love lavish
Rays of romance dark by hope not to raise
Ravish my ripped heart  open to ravish

All given away left nothing at all
Deplete now my heart, my soul left deplete
Wall built to protect crushed unguarded wall
Beat am I for my heart no more will beat

Attraction pushed and repealed attraction
Satisfaction never satisfaction

Paloszoo has asked me to co-judge with an eye to form so this comment is centred on form, my opinion of the rest won't count in the judging

Amera's shadow sonnet form is very tricky to work well, it can be applied to any sonnet form and you have applied it to an informal Shakespearian sonnet, you appear to have a slight syllable count problem in line 3 that apart the form works well.

    An interesting poem, well done

You are simply amazing! You make the Shadow Sonnet look so easy. This is beautifully penned with meter, flow and imagery. I'm putting this into the Shadow Sonnet list. Great work!

    Love,
    Amera♥

Meter? What meter? I did not even try to put meter in it. Thanks, however, for your generous compliments. I do like this form of yours. I don't always intend to write in it, sometimes that what my brain creates. I think it's programmed to think in shadow.
