I'm only eighteen
immature and naive
I'm a small brunette
with freckled cheekbones
not a tall blonde
with a plastic face
I'm a curvy writer
not a slender athlete
I play with a guitar
and not with my hair
at high school
I was
the science queen
and not
the prom geek
I'm fascinated
by people's words
not by puppies
and soft fabrics
I've blue eyes
hidden behind black frames
and I've scars
from when the others realised
I just wasn't good enough.

Why the heck would I DQ this? It's good. I like the part about the "science queen" and the "prom geek" because I can relate to that so well. I thought it was very sad at the end though. It was honest and true and that's what I was looking for. Try to not be so hard on yourself, okay? Good job and good luck! ~Des
