Knocking on your Door

The door is firmly shut,
My life empty and cold.
Why does it have to be this way?
Life without you lacks purpose and joy.

Material wealth cannot satisfy,

I long for something that will last.
Relationships alone cannot fulfil
The longings of my heart.

I'm knocking on your door, Lord,
I kneel down here and pray.
As I open myself to you,
I know you're not far away.

When I enter your presence,

You won't turn me away.
As I open my heart to yours,
I'm praying you will stay.

Bless me with your love, dear Lord,
And I will glady share my

Newfound faith and joy with a

World that's lost its way.

Amen

Very nicely done! The desire to have something else in life other than the material, such as joy and faith and love is something that we all should seek!
    Keep the faith, Baby!

    • Thanks for your comment - I wrote it in response to the quote in author's notes, thinking what it would be like without faith in God. Bless you, Harriet

  • Indeed a moving thought filled with the complete faith and the warmness around the words of love and reverence..well done..
