Pushing

All that's left is wonder:
the dried up stream of life,
with nothing left to drip;
broken spigots rusted
like blood on cracking lips.

All that's left is wonder:
the dying of a star;
so distanced from the world
where starting is the end;
a thousand years of cold.

All that's left is wonder:
I find it deaf and dumb.
illusions strike the heart;
poetically insane,
the words tear me apart.

All that's left is wonder:
but how much can I give?
the inspiration lost;
a few last creations,
before the wordflow stops.

Author notes

I really like the first stanza. Hmm.

    Those are my favorite lines--the images are fantastic and I like the repetition throughout the poem!

    I loved this stance;
    "All that's left is wonder:
    I find it deaf and dumb.
    illusions strike the heart;
    poetically insane,
    the words tear me apart."
    It seemed to speak to me LISA
