To those who fire rockets into Israel
and those who bomb the warrens of Gaza
retribution stacks upon retribution,
may God have mercy on you.
If God is compassionate and merciful
and the Lord is faithful to His people,
let the dead rise in Gaza and let
murdered martyrs and their executioners
embrace in shame for their complicity.
Where there is no peace, no hope for pain,
let sorrow wash away all enmity and rage
and let us be brothers and let us
mourn everyone's sweet children.
Let us dismantle bombs, unload
Kalashnikovs and M-16s .
As charnel smoke rises above
such promised land,
and columns of opprobrium ascend
from earth to heaven,
may love arrive that
blots away this pain.

interesting and timely
'may love arrive that blots away this pain' bravo poet; you have a nice way with words 'retribution stacks upon retribution' absolutely the way it strikes me one side reacting to something the other did...thank you for your beautiful voice for peace in such a time-sensitive issue... -

Would that such peace come soon. Thank you for your comments and for the contest.
