To catch a dream I often schemed
but visions rarely paused
for shiny lures or three prong skewers
as sharp as eagle claws
I wove a net but had not yet
secured the prize I sought
With every cast my hopes were dashed
until that rope drew taut
I towed the line, amazed to find
my net was not empty
A dream who’d slipped through others’ grips
had found its way to me
So now I think I’m on the brink
of living like a king
To catch a dream it only seems
I had to find Darlene

I absolutely love dreamcatchers! I have read some of your wife's poetry and now yours... oh..how truly beautiful !!

This is a beautiful poem, Leo and a fine tribute to Darlene and the love you two have for each other. The dream catcher is very pretty. Both her talent and yours are expressed very convincingly in this piece and the accompanying image

I am glad that your dream catcher ...
caught Darlene! She is such a warm and loving soul. God answered your prayers.
As always, your words flow smoothly, guided by heart and by thought.
Roses to you and to her:

Love

Awwww... I love this poem!
Dear Leo,
I am so happy for you and Darlene. I knew that your vision of hope would come. Your patience was worth it, now wasn't it? There is no way the Lord would allow a man as wonderful as you to be lonely for too long. She arrived just in time. I don't think she was caught in the net, I think she was always there and you had to be ready. You had to rid yourself of past pain. You most certainly are ready now. God is always right on time. This beautiful, romantic poem is living proof. I wish you and your love all the very best Leo. This wish comes from a heart that knows the reality of loving and being loved. I love everything about this poem.
Always ♥

Your rhyming is superb, but I'm sure you already know that. This flowed perfectly. The way it rolls off the tongue is like molasses. Simply stunning. This is a very well crafted poem. All honors to you and Darlene.

Simply beautiful artistry to go with such tender and loving words. You're right Darlene is wonderfully talented! The best part is Darlene is such a great and gracious lady and pretty too! I have to admit I did chuckle over your last line though. I thought to myself, "gee Leo, find? The good Lord had to literally drop her on your lap!LOL" But then He knows what a wonderful man you are as it is a very rare gift indeed when He gives one such an absolutely divine gift on a silver and gold platter. What tickles me beyond measure is that not only do you know what you have in Darlene, but she knows what she has in you. That is the stuff that makes the world go 'round.
Love you always,
Michelle
