Looking in the rear view mirror.
The town slowly fades.
The distance between us just growing,
While my heart is breaking,
Falling apart,
Piece by piece.
The tears fall down my cheeks.
The road ahead becomes blurry,
Clouded with images of you,
Visions of our love.
Memories of our time together,
Are on repeat in my head,
As I drive away yet again.
I promise I'll return to you.
But until then,
The salty water burns the wounds of my heart.
