One Question

It wasn’t that long ago
That we met each other
And began to experience
Falling in love with one another.

This was a day I will never forget
As long as I live,
For on December 20, 2005
I began to give

My entire heart to you;
And you placed yours in me.
Respecting each others wishes
We created our very own sparkling sea

To where our love can grow
And eventually bloom
Into the most beautiful sight,
Glowing in front of this big room.

And from where I stand
Your beauty has only increased
From that first day
Our love was released

Inside of you and inside of me,
But what is the intent
I am trying to make
What is meant

By all these words
On this page on display
That seem to melt
Any heart in every way?

You see the point
To all of this
Is nothing with a big extent
But comes down to a wish

That leads me to ask
A simple question
Of only four short but yet big words.
And, as I begin to mention

Everything in my heart,
My eyes grow wide
In waiting suspense
For my emotion is now on a ride

To where it awaits for the answer
That you choose with such suspense,
Which ever choice you make
I will still have my romance

For you and only you.
And, with this said, dear Kristi
Comes a question
As you look at me now…

Author notes

After the last line I was going to kneel down and propose to her. Sadly after 2 years and 4 months (Febuary 2008) we broke a part. It took me this long to post this poem on her because I didn't feel comfortable doing it, but I feel ok now. I gave her so much of my heart and I tried to make this poem as good as I could make it, put a lot of time into this poem. I hope you enjoyed it.

Please tell me what you think

Don't give up on your dreams of romance; there's much talent in this poem. You could use the same technique -- perhaps different words -- for that lovely someone you'll meet some day Don't ever give up! Peace.

  • What a sad poem and after all that you actually broke a part. But you know, faith can give you a lot of support - I shall pray to Holy Jesus for your happiness. Amen.

      Thanks,

Thank you sire for your comment I greatly appreciate it. I also thank you for your prayer my happiness that is greatly welcomed. I too shall pray for you good father. I am a Christian/Catholic at the local St. Mary's Church. I am a saved individual. I seek out reconciliation for the sins I have commited in the past, after all no human today is perfect by any means. I pray everynight for God to watch over me, my huge family. I don't just consider my actual brother's and sister's family but every man and woman on this planet as family, after all we all are brothers and sisters, we are all God's children regardless of good or bad behavior. We must pray not only for those who or kind and gentle to us but to those who hurt and hate us. We must love our enemies as friends, and I do so. I love every person on the face and off the face of this Earth. I love all those that hate me and consider me an enemy. I personally have no enemies and hate no one. Hate is but a too of the devil. Again I thank you for your reading and your prayers and I shall include you in my prayers as well.

      Thanks again and God Bless
      Domberg

Oh honey... Wow... Okay, if you had entered my contest on time, you probably would have got first place. What a memorable and beautiful proposal she missed out on!!!!! Ironically, February '08 is when Kevin and I got engaged. One day before Valentines Day. *le sigh* It's been almost a year. Oh my...one year next month to this day! I'm glad you were finally able to share this piece. Well done Dom!
