Each in satisfaction rest
her head upon his chest
his hand upon her breast
with gentleness they touch
the ones who gave so much,
not to taste fire again,
it's too soon for that refrain,
but fulfilled to lie at rest.
Each in blissful delight
Just passing the night
Reveling without fight
Sharing a warm embrace
Smiles adorn their face
Comfort fills the air
Buried in her hair
What a peaceful sight
And soft words each murmurs low
as they lie in afterglow
unwilling to fly so quickly
the depths they plumbed so deeply
and, now they speak of love
and now the stars above
each to the other murmurs low.
Slowly talk drift away
but the feelings stay
refusing to ever leave
while each conceives
The honesty they share
Thrust into the others care
Each willing to go day by day
And softer become the words
some barely to be heard
and deeper is their breathing
removed from passions seething,
and returned from lover's quest
in dreamless sleep they rest;
her head upon his chest
his hand upon her breast
