and I was mesmerized,
I jived it cool to “Don’t Be Cruel”,
“All Shook Up” and "Paralyzed”.
I cried so hard in “Love Me Tender”,
fell in love with “Loving You”.
You were the King in "King Creole”
with black hair and eyes of blue.
I was “Playing For Keeps”, "Don’t Ask Me Why”,
maybe it was the “Wonder Of You”.
“Treat Me Nice” you said ”I Feel So Bad”
and “We’ve Got a Lot Living To do”.
“It’s Now or Never” and "I Gotta Know”
because “I Need Your Love Tonight”,
just “Surrender”, baby, don’t say "Don’t “,
Darling, with you “It Feels So Right”.
“I’ve Lost You” now to sweet “Memories”,
you have gone to the “Promised Land”,
but “If I Can Dream” and “I’ll Follow that Dream”
“One Night” I’ll shake you by the hand.
You filled up my life with your magical songs,
The King, although you’re up there in the light,
Happy Birthday Elvis, “Rip it Up” Baby,
'cos “There’s Good Rockin’ Tonight”.

Fabulous, wonderful!!
Though not a huge Elvis fan, I can still remember the day that he died, because it was right around my 15 birthday. I think it's amazing how you used the names of his songs in this poem, and so well did it come out. Wow, I'm blown away!! -

This is great what you've done with the song titles.
"It's now or never" is my favourite.
I was just thinking of doing a piece about him but you beat me to it. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Thank you Judy for you comment. So many titles to chose from, you could go on for ages. I like so many songs that I could never even say a favourite.

My mom would get a kick out of this as she shares a birthday with the King. Love how you wove all his song titles together to compose your fan feelings. Well done on the Gold!

Thanks Angel and I am old enough to remember, right from the start, how his singing career went. I don't own super collections of things in his memory and I could never afford to see him in concert and I will never see Graceland but his songs mean everything to me. With each one they bring back a time in my life, a person, something important to me.

Thank you Cathy for taking the time to comment. As I said to Joy, the problem was not writing too much, being a total Elvis nut like I am.

What a great write!
I loved how you set the titles apart to make them easy to read and see. I am glad I have found a true Elvis fan. The selection of songs is great, too. You did a masterful job. Thank you.

I really enjoyed writing this and it is really not difficult at all when there are so many titles to chose from and I have all the CD collections here to take them from. What I found hard was not writing too much. Thank you Joy for stopping by and commenting, I am pleased you enjoyed it.

Peter thank you for taking the time to have a read. You could go on all day writing with Elvis titles as there have been so many and he is my favourite subject anyway. Win, lose, whatever, I don't care as long as the King is remembered.

I could not allow this one to go by without writing something, although my family will groan "Not another Elvis one" but I have not put any on here, this is the first. Thanks for your support Hilly.

A great tribute to a great person-he was the best and inspired so many-a sad loss he was to the world.
Good luck with this lovely poem-
