My memory goes way back
to a time when I was young,
the "Na na na na na na's"
as we'd stick out our tongue.
We wanted to be chased
all around the room,
we would tease each other
and play with Mom's broom.
The cousins would soon come
and we would pick sides,
"Cowboys and Indians"
and imaginary horse rides.
We would run all over the house
and tie up who we caught,
I felt left out of the fun,
it was my sister they all sought.
The game would get wild
until the cousins had to go,
we had a lot of fun
but in life we must grow.
It is now a distant memory
though some has been forgotten,
I will not hold on to grudges
and say that I was treated rotten.
Times have changed since then,
I feel accepted and more aware,
way back in the days of old
to me life wasn't fair.

You brought back alot of memories, some happy and some sad. Being the second youngest I sometimes got picked on or left out of the fun.
Great rhyme and flow.
Thank you for your entry.
Well done -
I enjoy!
You still have retained those childhood memories that you expressed well in this poem. Describing the activities and the resentment brings to mind my old memories. Thanks for the remembrances!
