Willow still weeps

In the long slender branches therein,
no leaves at all and wearing very thin.

Much like our emotions that steal,
with no other bliss to bring zeal.

All there is to see is this thick hazy fog,
nothing hangs around not even a tree frog.

Feel the wetness of the morning dew,
or is it last night's frost breaking through.

I can withstand anything though,
the wind, the sleet the hard snow.

Watch me sway to and fro in this cold,
I may have been around ancients of old.

No other color to show my inner stance,
the beauty that nature gives me by chance.

Winter's touch can bring such harsh reality,
with the only Hope for Spring  and vitality.

Then my leaves will embrace you in the gentle breeze,
when all things blossom  you will not be hard to please.

My branches hang down to the ground this is true,
like you I have a purpose my tears fall down for you.

Other trees may stand tall and powerfully erect,
I am to hang down low to agree with the elect.

    Bountiful~Beuatiful...

Art and knowledge met wisdom to conceive "Willow still weeps", and a heart that beats for beauty poemized the emotions to be poetized through a pen that follows the dictation of a wise soul.

I have enjoyed the reading of poem that honors the language and enriches the eternity of Poetry. "Willow still weeps" glows.

    In respect and admiration,

    Another beauty

I realized I commented on the other one already but it diesnt change my feelings on it. Anyway I love what I percieve is personification of the willow in this poem. I feel like the weeping willow sometimes. Able to withstand the fierce harsh blows of life and like the willow many ancient stories to tell. This is superb and deserves all the accolades it can possibly hold. Thanks for sharing!

Willows do look a little sad don't they? I love willows. I think they are beautiful. Thank you for sharing your poem with me.

    Exquisite!

Wow, Denise, this is incredibly beautiful. So often, we see poems about the mighty oak or those magnificent Fir trees that surround me here in Washington, rarely if ever about the Weeping Willow. I love your take on it! It rather reminds me of a poem I had written about the Trillium lily, the one I feel reflects each stage of Christ's life: birth, death and resurrection.

This is exquisite and should garner the gold!

    Luv and hugs, BonnieQ
