Missing You

I gaze upon the twilight of the dawn
That holds me warmly in a tight embrace
Just like you, the thick white mists of the morn
Softly caress and lightly kiss my face

I gaze upon the flowers in the trees
A mass of colour as they gently sway
Daintily to the rhythm of the breeze
Enthralling me, the way you do always

I gaze upon the grey clouds in the sky
As they threaten to unleash the fierce rain
It’s not for me to know the reason why
Without you, there are only tears and pain

I gaze upon the image of your smile
It makes me happy, at least for awhile
