Time

I am the infinite curse. I was there before it all.
Light, matter, the universe.
My hand forges diamonds from coal.
I am here after you rot.
You know my touch. You see it everyday.
Divinity, I am not. Though some say that I am.
I askew  truths and make them fade.
Some try to contain me, but they can't.
Inevitability is me.
Accept my embrace. Struggling is useless.
I'll find you... actually, you've never been misplaced.
Your first breath; I was there.
Before then, even.
Your last gasp; I will be there.
And afterwards.
I've been with you during these lines.
So, live on, but don't forget me.
I'm always watching you,
grinding you into that hole.

  • Creepy, but sweet nonetheless. No man can repel the tides of time! Excellent piece.
